Administrative staff at College is extremely rude.Completely unrelated to gaming, but still a facet in my daily life. I attend college on a moderately regular basis, and have lately found that the staff that is there to support students is extremely unhelpful and downright rude.
They will stand and chat with coworkers for minutes on end, instead of dealing with students that require their attention, and treat said student with contempt and disdain should they dare to draw attention to themselves in even the meekest fashion. If there is an issue where the student does not have all the information, they will not aid said student either; they will simply mock the student to their face about the situation and why they appear to be so unprepared. Despite having a computer in front of them that has access to sources that could help solve the issue, they choose to ignore any and all resources, and then get exasperated with said student when they return with information. What happened to me today is simply one time where the same set of staff have been inexplicably rude. I tend to miss some classes due to a physical injury suffered 2+ years ago that has turned into chronic pain, and have to wear an arm splint occasionally when the pain gets to be so severe that I cannot use one of my arms. As a result, I cannot attend typing classes, as I cannot type and do the work. Before I even had a chance to explain why I did not know my teacher's name (poor memory on top of moderate attendance), the staff member began insinuating that I was wasting her time and began mocking my current situation. I wound up leaving the situation, as it turns out my teacher may not even have submitted the information, which is another testament to the wonderful skill set and professionalism that I have come to expect from this College. When you're being paid to do a job, please remember that you have a job to do. If there are people there, you need to serve them to the best of your abilities. If your abilities are insufficient to meet the demands, perhaps it is time you found another occupation.

Other games exist? Apparently I've forgotten to play anything except for PSO 2, which means I've been neglecting my Xbox 360 and my WiiU. This is something that must not stand, so as a result, I am going to be partitioning my time between the three systems (PC, Xbox 360, WiiU) to ensure an appropriate amount of play time for each system. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch In other game related news, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch release this past Tuesday! I have yet to own a PS3 but I do plan on purchasing one in the next month or so to be able to play this game; there's something too appealing about Studio Ghibli making a game to incur much resistance on my part. Hopefully my holiday bills and current expenses will be dealt with by mid-February, so I can finally pick up a PS3 to play this stunning game. Tonight I'm planning on playing a couple matches of Anarchy Reigns on my Xbox 360 before logging on to PSO 2 to work on completing the Valentines event. I've already gotten the Rappy Barrel, though I'm not leveled enough to actually use it, and have one more Client Order to complete before I've officially finished off the event! The lobby looks awesome though, and the music for the event makes me hope they release it as an actual song to purchase, so I can reminisce about the event long after it has ended. Links:

I spent most of it taking screenshots, but am working on some translations to make my life, and my friend's lives, easier.Totally didn't end up playing an actual game to try and save up for a PS3 through in-store credit, and wasted my whole night playing Minecraft with a buddy. On the plus side, we created a whole new world that has some wicked NPC villages and we actually have monsters on, as we're not terrified of them blowing up all our stuff. Our house has gotten blown up once already, though. Even more so on the plus side, my file for PSO2 finally finished downloading, and I am now installing it! Yaay! The list on the right is my checking up on how the download was going, as it conked out on me about 4-5 times throughout the downloading period. This time, however, it went smoothly and the install is proceeding. A tad late for me tonight to start playing, but it should be ready for me when I finish up my classes tomorrow! Super excited to make my first character, the trick will be making her a Redria like my previous main without too much trouble. Wish my luck, and if anyone forgot, the majority of English speakers are on Ship 2. Links:

I've started keeping tabs on exactly how far the downloader gets each time whenever I happen to wander back over to my computer, and will most likely post about it at some point if/when it ever finishes downloading. So far, I'm into my third day of downloading the same file, but still hopeful, as I do have a ton of other stuff to accomplish before I can drown myself in PSO2. At the time of this posting, The upshot is that if you encounter the same difficulties that I have had with the download, it resumes at the same point that it "ended" at, so at least you haven't lost all that data. At the time of this post, I've finished about 77% of the download, so slow and steady progress.
I think, tonight, I'm going to work on finishing up my Minecraft achievements (18/20) by building a super long railway cart that goes for 500 m in one straight direction, and making friends with 5 wolves (oh, and get some assignments done, I suppose). Probably would've worked better if I'd looked at the achievements before decimating the wolf population, but one can always hope, right? This is my glass guest area, for when I have friends stop by. When my castle is completed, I'll post a picture of that as well. So, still waiting for PSO2 to download (I'm not quite sure why it's taking forever, since it's only 8GB), so I don't really feel like doing much else at the moment >.> I probably will still go play El Shaddai, since I am quite tired after a day of school and work and it really is quite a lovely and awe-inspiring game. The graphics really do look like the screen shot above this blurb, and they last for the entirety of the game. The combat is simple to pick up, but learning it and making it flow is something that even the most hardcore gamers could enjoy. For anyone who hasn't checked out the game yet, there should still be a demo available on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network; if you're lazy, however, feel free to click the link below to open up a youtube video showing an awesome trailer.

I went into the PSO2 website and there have been 0 updates this year. I realize that the year has just started, but the last update was from PAX in August 2012, so they've had more than enough time to give us some more information. The game has already launched in Japan, and I am quite nearly in tears about not being able to play this awesome and beautiful game.
To that end, I have decided to attempt playing it in Japanese, if the game will let me. I'm sure it'll be a wonderful experience, though I have played the original one on the Japanese servers due to dead English servers, so I guess it won't really be all that different. To check out the Japanese website, click here: Phantasy Star Online 2 If you get a very angry error that you can't understand due to ?????? filling most of the box with Error 12152 at the end of it, you need to save the game to the Desktop, as apparently there are security issues (?) when you try and put it to a different folder. For those interested in trying it out, Kotaku has an excellent step-by-step set of instructions that translate what's going on in English (much of the site will not translate from Japanese), starting from how to create a username through to making a character and entering a game. Note: Ship 2 is apparently where most of the English speaking community happens to be at the moment. It launched on 08/01/13 at the fantastic price point of $29.99 at EB Games, which was a pleasant surprise as the pre-order price was listed at $59.99. The most excellent part of this game releasing in North America is that it's a Japanese series import that came out in July, hence some of the characters that people in North America may have never seen before (Anarchy Reigns Characters). Had a spare moment to myself tonight, and popped it in and loaded it up. Went through the brief tutorial that explains the basics, movement, attacks, special abilities, etc, and then hopped right into the multiplayer matchmaking lobby. The Quick Match system links you into a random game type, with however many people that game type is supposed to have, and functions similar to the Halo lobby. The first game I played was a deathmatch, with 14 people in it, and oh my fishes, what chaos! It was glorious (I was pretty terrible though)! The combo system is amazing, though I haven't quite worked out all the features of it yet; that will clearly take some practice, more than a mere 2 hours can provide. The character I've enjoyed the most so far is Sasha Ivanoff, the stunning woman just above this line. She's known as the ice queen, as her special attacks enable her to create a longer melee range through adding icicles to her attack combos. Some players managed to break through my attacks, however, so I'm still working on figuring that part out. There is a mod that every player gets to add to their character set-up, which gives you on advantage to utilize within the brawl; the most common one I saw was an auto-guard and a break-through type mod (when a player kills you, it shows you what mod they are using). I have yet to try out the single-player campaign, though I am quite excited to get started on it. You can unlock characters in either multi-player mode, as you level up (you get a score, and your score has a direct correlation to your experience gained after the game ends), or by defeating them in the single-player campaign. The single-player campaign follows a few paths, which I won't spoil for anyone here, but it becomes a quite extensive journey, especially if you're not the greatest at this style of game. I'll keep updating this page as I continue to play the game, so keep an eye out for my updates!
