There we are, gathered around the table. Inappropriate comments abound. Everyone grabs their character sheets, and gets their dice ready. As the DM walks in, sets his laptop up, he looks at each of us, evaluating us, seeing if we are worthy of playing in his campaign. Finally, we begin. The new party members (gnome titans) and the original group members (human) are unable to speak to one another, as they do not have a common language. However, it is eventually determined that they wish to enter... the mines. The mines are truly the ancient remnants of a dwarven city, lost to the mountain, recently unearthed. Through sheer recklessness, the gnome titans barrel their way, flinging orcs and goblins to the left and right... until the door appears. What is so special about this door? Well, it allowed for only two to stand side-by-side... or it would have, had 3 members of the party not been gnome titans. As it was, they could fully block the doorway, preventing any enemies from passing, but also preventing any party members from passing through as well. Fortunately, the lone tall warrior possessed a Spetum with it's glorious 8 foot range, and was able to spear the orcs and goblins every so often. Now, the fight that occurred in the doorway was nothing short of spectacular... if you enjoy watching no one ever get hit. The gnomes couldn't hit the orcs or goblins, and the orcs and goblins couldn't hit the gnomes. The goblins were such TERRIBLE shots with the crossbow that they nearly hit their own guys in the back a few times. Essentially, the entire 40 second fight was the three gnomes and two orcs (once 3 goblins had been vanquished by the Spetum) flailing wildly at each other, never actually landing a blow. Eventually, one orc was felled by a mighty spear blow, and the rest ran off into darkness. The party pursued, but were caught off guard by an even greater number of orcs and goblins. After severely wounding them, the party broke away, and escaped the dwarven city.
Many secrets were uncovered, though only those who speak the dwarven tongue have access to them.
