Rek'Sai, the Void BurrowerRiot Games has introduced a new character for their roster, Rek'Sai, the Void Burrower. One of my favorite things about her right now is that she is a female monster who does not look female in any particular way. While I do quite enjoy how the majority of the playable characters look in the game, it is always nice to have some that just don't quite fit the norms.
I've made a post detailing her abilities, but it's mostly information that Riot has already posted, I've just jammed it together in one piece, rather than having to click between all the different spells. I'll be posting a collage of her by early next week, so stay tuned for that.

Molten Core Legacy Edition - Level 100It's the big 1-0, World of Warcraft's 10th anniversary! As a special thank you for all the players who have continued to live and create and save Azeroth, Blizzard has updated an old raid for the level 100 players, and made into an LFR experience with players able to earn a mount (a corehound), some pets, and an illusion for weapons. The raid that's been updated? None other than Molten Core, a 40-man raid. And yes, it does go as well as you think it might. I'm constantly shocked and amazed at the capability of raiders, and Molten Core definitely tests people's ability to read and follow directions. I had two groups descend into madness and leavers because a few players proved themselves incapable of following written direction multiple times, over the same topic, even after seeing what happens when they do not follow the directions. First attempt. One of the very first bosses players encounter is the giant corehound, Magmadar. Before you reach Magmadar, however, you need to kill all of his little corehound buddies. These corehounds are unique to Azeroth, as they are the only corehounds that will reignite and resurrect if another corehound is alive and in a relatively large proximity. As a result, players need to pull the groups one at a time, and ensure that all the corehound bodies disappear before pulling another group of corehounds (there are 5 groups before players reach Magmadar). What did our group do? The first two groups went great! Killed them without any problems, but Shazzrah patrolling up and down probably helped to ensure that players didn't pull too much. After he died, however, that's when things went bad. Immediately after pulling and killing the third group, someone pulled the fourth group. This caused the third group to start reigniting, one-by-one. "Oh, just AoE! If everyone AoE's, then we'll be fine!" No. No. This is not how it works. There are plenty of classes that are not capable of sustained AoE, and on top of that, no one can control what spells crit and which ones don't, especially when AoEing over 10 different monsters. This group pulled, and wiped, due to the same mechanic, three times before players started leaving. They took so long with this pull that the trash respawned, and players were unable to rejoin the main party when they released instead of waiting to be resurrected. So, that group ended. Second attempt.I joined another group that seemed to have a knowledgeable raid leader, and it went well for awhile until he had to leave. Then, it got better! It was amazing, the mechanics were clearly spelled out and people followed the directions given. My faith was starting to be restored! When suggestions were given, they were thought about, and then either followed or not, but were given reasons as to why they were not used. It was marvelous. We took down most of the bosses on our first attempts, and sailed through the raid, killing Ragnaros. Everyone got their 640 epic helm, and potentially got a pet or illusion enchantment. Raid complete! In the mail, from the sometimes overzealous postmaster came the wonderful Corehound ground mount. Hurray!
I don't think he exists anymore.Supposedly, there's this super rare spawn named "Poundfist". He's a world spawn, and drops a mount that looks exactly like him, but with a saddle attached. Due to the CRZ realms, people are making groups to spawn the realms to try and get a tag on him. People on our server have literally been waiting for over 12 hours, with other groups having camped his spawn since the server resets on Friday, November 21, 2014. So basically, people have been trying to find him for the past three days. He has five spawn points, and there have been people camping every single spawn point around the clock. I think he's a myth. All the players who "have" the mount have gotten it from other servers. At this moment, I've seen the mount once, and that was on a CRZ realm, not my own. I've spent the majority of the day actually questing and trying to get things completed, but it still preys on my mind that if I were to leave and commit to doing something else, that I would miss getting a mount that is a 100% guaranteed drop once he spawns for anyone who tags him, regardless of server/group/faction. Sigh. NO ONE HAS SEEN HIM YET ON MY SERVER.
This is probably one of my favorite songs. I'm not sure how or when it happened, but I really love the tale of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. More than the original stories, though, I love the creepy and dark versions of the tale that pop up from time to time. I'm especially excited whenever I find something new and terrifying from this sub-world. At this point in time, I've played and completed American McGee's Alice, Alice: Madness Returns, and read Are You Alice?, along with the comic book series by Grimm's Fairy Tales. Naturally, when I fell upon Razzy's version of Alice of Human Sacrifice, I was really excited. I love his English dubs, the lyrics are often absolutely spectacular, and I was not disappointed. It is quite different from the version I'm used to, but that's to be expected (different trans-lyricists). [Razzy & Co.] Alice of Human Sacrifice (English) Razzy has a wonderful Tumblr account, you should really check it out. He has his lyrics posted there, as well as the video. However, for my own piece and mind, I'll post the lyrics and introduction script of the video here as well.
[rockleetist] Alice Human Sacrifice (English)Lyrics:The first Alice was a wrathful woman of the Spade. And righteously she held a sharpened blade within her hand. Never hestitating to slay all within her way. Creating paths of blood that followed through Wonderland. Deep into the darkened forest, Alice walked the line. Captured and imprisoned as an embodiment of sin. If it were not for the murderous wake left behind, No one would have suspected that she had ever been. The second Alice was a fragile man of the Diamond. The broken echo of the lies within demented words. He sang his twisted melodies to all in Wonderland. Creating the image of the sick and the disturbed. Deadly yet so beautiful,a voice just like a rose. Was a shot by a maman, who silenced him to death. Single rose bloomed in his place, with no music composed. With twisted grin, this dying man lay breathing his last breath. The third Alice was an innocent young girl of Club. An enchanting, graceful figure in the world of Wonderland. She charmed the people in the land to every beck and call. A peculiar country answering to each command. So she rose into the throne to be the country's queen. Consumed by paranoia of her own impending death. Soon the queen succumed to a dark and nightmarish dream. Disguised in kindness, loathing fate, she secured her regime. And as this passed, two children walked in the woods. Partaking in tea underneath the trees, they'd never part. They found an inivation to the queen. It was the Ace of Hearts. The fourth Alice was a duo of curiosity. Both were lost, and could not find the boat where they began. And so they ran through countless open doors so recklessly. A brother and a sister running wild through Wonderland. A stubborn elder sister. A witty younger brother. But they had strated too far into Alice's Wonderland. They were never woken from their terrifying dream. Forever they would wander this twisted fairy tale. ChocoCrazeh - "I want to be the damned fifth Aliceeeee" The fifth alice was a queen of black hearts,
pleasing everyone she met with a warm smile. She was wise and lovable, wrathful and cruel all at the same time, soon enough no one cared if their queen would die. Alice soon had finally had enough, she had killed all with her own blood covered hands, She had snapped and lost all sense, of sanity as she walked, forever trapped in wonderland, unable to escape her messed up mind, a mad woman lost in herself, Wise and lovable, wrathful and cruel all at the same time. I love this song, it really is quite wonderful. I've always enjoyed her singing, and this not only catchy, but I love hearing the references and I think it's great start for her when it comes to publishing her own music. This song is now available on itunes! The lyrics show up during the video at the appropriate moments, but I like carrying lyrics around with me so I can remember them and practice when I'm not sitting in front of my PC or on my phone. So, I have copied out the lyrics! Enjoy! Lyrics:I've traveled the world, with you right from the start.
You're my link, my chain, the missing piece of my heart. Well, didn't you know? No matter which way you go, Nothing can keep us apart. And through it all, you're standing tall, And I will be waiting for you here at the end. A phoenix down will bring around a chance to save me again. Say you'll still jump a little a higher, pick up that fire flower, And fight through the castle for me. Even if I am in another, we're meant for each other indefinitely. Will you come racing through the zone? Don't leave me all alone! A thousand miles away, you'll come through. Bring me a hundred golden rings, Extra lives and things, But I only need one, with you. How many levels you go, How many barrels they throw.. You will find the path back to me, I know. Let light shine the way, power up and save the day, 'Cause I see a hero in you. And at the gate, behind world 8, Where I will be waiting for you here at the end A phoenix down will bring around a chance to save me again. (heyeyeah!) For a song like ours, I'll be waiting. Normandy sails the sea of stars, I'll be waiting. No matter where you are, I'll be waiting. I'll be waiting, the princess is waiting. I'll be waiting. Conflicted about the style of gameplay...As I've probably already mentioned (but I'll say it again), I am a huge fan of Nintendo. I love their games, and they have never disappointed me when it came to a game. This may be because I do my research so I know what to expect going into a game, so I don't expect the game to do something that it is clearly incapable of delivering, but who knows.
I own every version of Mario Party, on each system (excepting the DLC versions, as I own the physical versions and love my N64) and they all still work. I enjoyed the competitive aspect and being able to choose my own path for every single Mario Party title except for 9 and soon-to-be-10. This is the part that conflicts me. I completely understand why Nintendo made the choice to adjust how players go through the board, as it makes complete sense from that perspective. Many of Nintendo's games are E, and meant to be enjoyed by multiple members of a family. Mario Party was always a game that encouraged competition, as well as the concept that there could only ever be one winner. Looking back at how the coins/stars were distributed, it really did make it seem like the only worthwhile place was first, and regardless of how well second place did, it didn't matter at all because they would never get any recognition for their efforts. I ran into this issue when I was younger, as I played the games so often that I generally always won them. I would win the mini-games, resulting in the mini-game star, and because I won all the mini-games, I was also essentially guaranteed the coin star too. It was a rare occasion that I did not win a Mario Party game, and caused many of my friends to not want to play with me, because who wants to lose over and over again. With Mario Party 9/10, everyone gets rewarded for their efforts while playing the game. Every player gets a mini-star if they participated in the mini-game/event (though not when ztars are around), which can make younger players enjoy the experience a lot more. Now players who aren't the best, but still enjoy the game, can get rewarded for playing and that makes the game so much more enjoyable for regular players. I do really like that Bowser is apparently a playable character, creating a 1v4 dynamic. I'll probably buy the game when it comes out, because I can't resist a new Mario Party game to play with my family and friends. I finally went back.I posted many months ago that I was hemming and hawing about whether I should return to the World of Warcraft community, and I have indeed returned. I was hesitant for a few reasons. The first being that I am currently unable to access my original account. This is due simply to distance; my authenticator is located in my pretty Cataclysm Collector's Edition, which is in a box in my house on another continent. Yes, I could have emailed Blizzard and gotten them to remove the authenticator, but I honestly just didn't feel comfortable with that, so I didn't. My boyfriend also wanted to start playing, so we decided to do RAF on a new, high-pop server and leveled up rather quickly. Yes, I am missing out on achievements on my main account, but that's ok, that's what happens when you quit a game, and for now, those characters are not in commission. Due to work and the crazy queues, I'm still only level 97 at the time of this post (just dinged, yay!) but I anticipate being 100 by Sunday, and am super excited for it. I love the garrison concept, and I have made one or two little mistakes (whoops) in my building choices, but ah well, I can always pay an exorbitant amount of gold later and change it. Reflecting back on my choices, I actually will probably stick with the ones I chose, as they will pay off in the long run, though for leveling, the other option was definitely better. I do have a few favorites when it comes to the people I recruited to join me throughout my campaign in Draenor. So far, my absolute favorite is Daag. Not only did I find him the most ridiculous places, but he also showed up, asking to be recruited because I kept blowing his cover, apparently. I'm a little torn on which character to play, when it comes to end-game content though. I will have the following classes:
I'm fairly confident that my Resto/Feral druid will be my second 100, followed by my Holy/Retribution paladin (she'll be third mostly due to timing, I'll gain access to her over the christmas holidays). I'm not confident in who will remain as my main though. I truly loved healing with my holy paladin, but I've been hearing rumours that paladins are no longer as ridiculous healers as they once were. If that's the case, that's fine, I've been through dry healing spells where I really wasn't the best choice for various fights, and I've made it work, but I'm wondering if I'll even be considered viable by other players. I guess time will tell. I'm not really quite sure what to make of this title. I generally enjoy every official Nintendo title, though I haven't finished all the games in my library (I'm a serial game-not-finisher, sorry!). This one looks pretty cute, but it's clearly gauged towards younger gamers, at least from the initial video. That being said, even simple games like the Kirby series can get somewhat challenging towards the end of the game. Going back and replaying some of the older variations such as my personal favorite, Kirby 64, I did find that they were extremely easy and simple to finish. That did not, however, diminish my enjoyment of playing the game. I tried to do different things, and complete the levels using counter-intuitive abilities that occasionally lead to my death. This kind of thought process makes me think that this game might be worth checking out, especially on days where I just want to run around and feel like I accomplished something in a game. This title seems super adorable, and quite enjoyable, and I feel as though the later levels may result in some challenges that actually make me lose a life or two. I'm going to look at some gameplay videos and reviews first, but this is definitely a game that's on my radar for now! The official trailer video is below, check it out if the E3 trailer seemed interesting, it goes into significantly more detail about what you'll experience within the world of Captain Toad, Treasure Tracker. More collages!
I just finished my "Kalista, the Spear of Vengeance" collages! Both her original skin and the Blood Moon Skin are up, showcasing the majority of her abilities and allow you to view her from various angles in motion and in combat. I'm planning on doing at least 1 champion collage each week, though some weeks will have more if I have the spare time. I'm planning on working my way backwards, looking at the new skins first and slowly going towards the older champions/skins. That being said, if you have any preferences as to who you would like to see, please do let me know and I'll do my best to make it a priority. I love Nintendo, and I love Super Smash Bros. I've played every variation, and while I definitely liked some better than others (wasn't a fan of the Wii one, in particular), they have all been a blast to play. Overall, I'd have to say that the Gamecube version is probably my favorite. A giant chunk of that favoritism is coming from the fabulous single player mode, that allows players to run through various Nintendo stages such as Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, and the F-Zero X tracks. Ever since Zelda became a playable character, she has been my favorite. I adored the Sheik/Zelda wombo-combo, and I'm pretty sure Sheik is one of the fastest characters in the game. I've progressed the furthest with Sheik so far, but am planning on trying out Zero-Suit Samus, Peach, Jigglypuff, Villager, and Toon Link shortly and completing the solo modes with them. Hopefully, Rosalina and Luma at some point too, once I figure out how they work. Zelda has remained my go-to for the 3DS version, though I am slowly trying out new characters. Definitely enjoy characters that have speed, but also can pack a punch. I'm a little disappointed that Sheik is now a different character, rather than the down-B move, but I can live with it. Currently killed Crazy Hand on "Challenging" with Sheik. I've always been partial to playing female characters, partially because they occupy less space on the screen, and partially because they tend to be very fast hitting, or at least pack quite the punch. It probably has something to do with the fact that I am also female, but I'm also pretty sure it has something to do with the other reasons I've listed. Peach has been a solid character for me since her release as well. I've found her frying pan to be immensely helpful, and her attacks really pack an oompf. Plus, that floating ability? Yes please. She is quite easy to knock around, if she gets hit, but I find her strengths more than makeup for her weaknesses. Plus, who doesn't love getting a K.O. with a turnip? I am currently trying to figure out how to play these two effectively. So far, it hasn't been working as well as I want it to. I can manage her combos alright when I'm playing by myself, but it's still a pretty big disaster once I'm playing with other humans. I'm really determined to figure her out, because she's become my new favorite racer in Mario Kart 8. I didn't even realize she was a heavy weight, though I guess I should've figured since she was so much taller than Peach. She seems to handle better than Pink Gold Peach (though they should be the same class), and she looks pretty epic on a motorcycle. These guys are interesting. I haven't quite figured out how the tree plays into things, but I'm enjoying them quite a bit.
